A well-written title can help increase sales because it increases the likelihood that customers will click on a link to your product page.
Title - headline or product name.
Is one of the deciding factors that determines the number of visitors to a product page. Keyword-optimized titles increase ranking, and the higher the product ranks, the higher the clickability. In addition, a good Title attracts attention and keeps the buyer interested.
Recommended title length:
· Recommended length - up to 80 characters;maximum allowed - up to 200 characters.
· Listings with 50-80+ characters in the title usually rank at the top of the results.
· Using an extra 10-30 characters can play to your advantage by including search terms that potential customers will use to find the product.
· In the mobile rendition, the title is trimmed down to 80 characters, so meaningful information should fit into that amount of space.
How to optimize the title:
· keywords (use "-" or "|" to divide it)
· major keywords or search terms, including, but not limited to, long-tail variants
· USP (unique selling proposition)
· Up to 200 characters maximum (try to keep to 80 characters)
· brand name
· Capitalize Every Word except short conjunctions and prepositio
· specify color, model number, series and quantity (if necessary)
· write numbers in numerals (2, not "two")
· for multipacks, please specify quantity
Most common mistakes:
· all CAPSspecific details from the listing ("free shipping")
· subjective adjectives like "best", "top", "fantastic", "awesome", "great" and so on
· special characters for beauty (~ { } # ¬ ¦ etc.) or HTML tags
· information overload
Stop words and symbols:
Search engines do not take pronouns, particles, prepositions into account. Therefore, there is no point in using them in the title.
The most popular stop words: and, or, about, to, I, not, to.
Of course you will use them, but try to cut down on the amount.
· comma «,»
· dash «–», «—»
· colon «:»
· vertical separator «|»
Universal formula:
Key benefit + main key + for whom | USP / function + brand name + additional keywords
Example: Warm winter coat for women long | Natural wool | Warm cashmere coat | CoatCoat - stylish outerwear for women for winter
Do I need to specify the brand?
If the audience knows your brand name (and it helps them make a decision), put it near the beginning of the title tag.
Most often, the brand name is placed at the end of the title tag. This is justified by the fact that it is not some important word and if the search engines cut it off, it will not be critical. Writing the name of the brand at the beginning of the title is used mainly by large and well-known companies.
